Returns

Your order includes prepaid return packaging for your samples. Up to eight malaise bottles share one padded mailer. Sweep vials share a soil or malaise return when included; otherwise they use their own padded mailer. Keep the traps and sweep nets. If you need to return more samples across multiple trips, or need additional return labels for any reason, please describe what you need and why in the notes below — we'll do our best to accommodate.

  • •Soil samples should ideally be returned within one week of collection and kept cold.
  • •Malaise trap bottles & insect vials: keep containers tightly closed, cold when possible, and away from heat or direct sunlight. Return collected samples promptly, especially when fresh supplies are needed. Bottle resupply is for existing traps; vial resupply is coordinated with staff.

Planning to sample later?

Our prepaid return labels are valid for about 100 days from when they are created. We recommend waiting to order until you're ready to sample. If your label expires, email support@hokanbio.com and we'll email you a replacement. Reprinting the same label does not renew it.

Need more than 3 soil kits or 2 malaise kits? Tell us who you are, what you need, and what you'd like to sample in the comments below.
